Forty years of gardens across Sydney's North Shore.
The Garden Guide is David Ting, a landscape designer and qualified horticulturist working across Sydney's North Shore.
David started out in the nursery trade in the mid-1980s and graduated with an Associate Diploma in Horticulture from Hawkesbury Agricultural College in 1984. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Horticulture, and has spent close to forty years designing, planting and building gardens from West Pymble outward.
His work runs from water features, ponds and koi to full design and construction, with a horticulturist's eye for planting, camellias, pruning and irrigation. The portfolio spans St Ives, Pymble, Vaucluse, Palm Beach and beyond — established gardens, most of them, that have had time to prove the plan was right.
What David does
Garden Design & Construction
Whole gardens taken from a first walk of the site through to a finished, planted space. Design and build handled together, so the plan on paper is the garden you get.
Water Features & Ponds
Reflecting pools, rock waterfalls and koi ponds designed as the centrepiece of a garden. Built and planted to sit right in their setting and run cleanly for years.
Horticulture & Planting
Planting chosen and placed by a qualified horticulturist for Sydney's North Shore conditions. A particular fondness for camellias, and the pruning and care that keeps a garden looking its best.
Landscape Impressions
A photographed view of your space, virtually landscaped so you can see plants, paving and walls before a sod is turned. You confirm the look before the work begins.
